Agent/Broker Information

Enlisting the help of a real estate broker is not required to find the apartment that meets your needs. In most situations, students and their support network (guardians, family and friends) can find an apartment on their own using the resources provided by Off-Campus Living along with other web-based resources. We recommend allowing 2-3 months to find your ideal apartment, however, many students find an apartment in less time.

In some situations, however, students may choose to enlist the support of a broker to find an apartment. Be aware that a broker will charge a fee in exchange for their services rendered.

When enlisting the help of a broker, you should expect:

• Convenience: A broker will search for you

• Knowledge: An experienced broker knows the market and area neighborhoods

Timeliness: A broker can help you find an apartment quickly

• Awareness: A broker may know of unlisted opportunities

Remember that a broker will charge you a fee for their services to help you find an apartment. Broker fees vary, so be sure the fee is spelled out clearly in advance as well as the services that the broker will provide. You should never have to pay a broker fee when you find an apartment on your own.

Below is a list of Boston brokers. You can view their listings and/or enlist their assistance if you think you’ll need the help of a broker:
